dialogue what’s that

I dont understand this

The extent of my understanding is that Aya has a lot of pics of Razer saved in her brain, for some reason Razer and Hal are having to go through those archives, and Hal is MAJI 2000% NOT OKAY with his little girl being so in love with Razer. Where are the saved images admiring her papa? STOP TAKING MY BABY GIRL’S ATTENTION.

SUMMARY: Aya was holding a Manhunter’s head and then suddenly shut down, so Hal and Razer shrunk themselves and went inside Aya to see what was wrong. They’re accessing her memory banks to see what happened when she touched the Manhunter, buuuuuut Razer’s more interested in looking at pictures of himself with a dopey expression on his face. And then Hal’s all “Okay lover boy, we got work to do.” (This scene is just so weird and I feel like there should be another panel between #2 and #3???)

It’s only the end if you want it to be ♪

Okay.  So maybe I am letting myself get a little weepy over the finale.

I am bitter.  I am sad.  I am more than a ‘little weepy.’  But I sure as hell don’t regret watching this show.  Ever.

What’s that saying? Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Can I have a moment to gush over the parallels in these scenes? No? Too bad.

The first time we enter the Interceptor, it’s bright.  The lighting is soft and inviting as is the color pallet of it’s interior.  You feel comfortable and at home.  When we return to it, it’s dark.  Our first look at the ship in months, and it is shrouded in shadows and something, ever so slightly outside of your consciousness, feels off.

And then we meet our AIs.

Aya is met with a question.  A big question at that.  “Define beautiful.” Can any of us actually define beauty? To describe it properly and what makes something beautiful? I had an entire lecture on the subject once and came no closer to a real answer than I had when I started.  Right off the bat, when she’s nothing more than a spherical AI we know nothing about, she shows complexity.  Curiosity. Humanity.

Lanos is met with an information dump.  “Aya is no longer on this vessel. I am LANOS.” And he just repeats that.  When he hears any comments about Aya from Hal he automatically answers with the same response and introduces himself.  He’s working off a loop with audio cues.  You need to put in the proper words to get the answer you want and nothing further will be provided.  He is static.  Humorous perhaps in the grief he provides Hal and Kilowog but there is no sense of depth.  No feeling of something deeper in his programing.

And that just proves how special and unique Aya is.

Also, can I point out that when Aya’s body was about to be dissected, the Guardian says “I want to end this Aya experiment once and for all.”? Aya was probably created with much higher functions than normal AIs that enabled her to develop the willpower and emotions she has obtained throughout the series. She was most likely a prototype, the first of her kind. You know how the Guardians don’t really like to rely on emotions? Well, no wonder they don’t like what Aya has become and feel the need to get rid of her! She no longer behaves like a “proper nav computer” because she is starting to rely on emotion and attachment. So they decided to terminate her and replace her with an AI whose only purpose is to drive the ship and provide information. He has no higher functions. This LANOS is, in every sense of the word, artificial.

It’s foolish to stay when there’s no hope, Green Lantern.

Yeah, we’re dumb that way. But there’s always hope.
